Bearcats Compete At Council Bluffs Classic with 42 Teams

This week varsity got the opportunity to travel to Council Bluffs, IA to compete in the Council Bluffs Classic, while our JV was at the Lincoln Northeast JV Invite. The competition level for both of these meets are very high, it is time to reflect on the week and to be ready to get after it in practice on Monday.

Our varsity was very competitive this weekend, we finished in 28th place as a team. Friday is a pool tournament, with each wrestler being thrown into a separate bracket after the pool is finished. Depending on where a wrestler finishes in their pool they’re either put into the gold or silver bracket. Kaedun Goodman, Perry Swarm, Jakob Ransdell, Tate Kuchera, and Brandon Moore all competed in the gold bracket on Saturday. Jackson Lavene won the silver bracket on Saturday, with Tavean Miller taking second place in the silver bracket.

Our JV brought home the Lincoln Northeast Team Title Saturday, edging out Lincoln East 208.5 to 200. We had a number of high placers and wrestlers received high praise for their efforts and attitudes this weekend. If a wrestler lost before the semi-finals, the highest they could place was 5th, while a wrestler who lost in the semis fell right to the 3rd place match.
