It was great to get onto the mats and compete this week. We started off our season with a triangular as we hosted Hastings and Klein High School in Klein, TX. Both duals were close, with us coming out on top in both.

Friday was a great start to our season competition-wise, and we also got to honor the '07-'11 Kearney High teams.
Saturday we hosted our annual Kearney High Invite. This season's invite jumped from seven teams in 2021 to eleven teams this season. We finished in 5th place out of eleven teams.

Varsity - Tavean Miller
Tavean went 4-1 on the weekend. Tavean had a KHS Invite, going 2-1 and finishing in 2nd place. Tavean had a huge district win in the ultimate rideout, where Tavean earned the escape to beat his North Platte opponent. Tavean fell in a close battle in the finals to a tough Lincoln East opponent 2-0 in the finals.
JV - McKaden Smith
McKaden went 3-1 on the weekend. McKaden is being awarded wrestler of the week for his Kearney High Invite win. At the KHS Invite McKaden went 3-0 with two pins and a 16-3 major decision in his final match.

Tatum went 3-1 on the weekend. Tatum is being awarded wrestler of the week for his Kearney High Invite win. At the KHS Invite Tatum went 3-0 with three pins on the day.
